by Lois Lowry
Rating: 3 stars
Summary: This is part of the Giver series. It is in no way related to the Giver. It is a story about a crippled girl in a village. She learns to weave beatiful cloth. She starts to work for the rulers of City. She also learns about her past.
Thought: This is a good read and I hope that in later books the stories of the Giver and Gathering Blue come together.
Favorite Part: I loved how the girl sees herself as a leader.
Other Information: Unlike The Giver, this book is appropriate for 4th graders. Some mild violence in the book but it is not heavily described. No bad language.
